Botanica

I began with a new piece because after all my work here in Alicante I decided to make a free style quilt/felting/embroidery/crochet combination. You will say I do this technique all the time but some things changed. Pieces are bigger and a little bit more like little quilts because I'm alternating felted with quilt sandwich parts in once piece. Why? because I want them to be extra chunky and also because I will add much more embroidery. They are going to be very exuberant.

I will do something I can have fun with, whatever it turns out to be. This is going to be a pillow for my living room. If  you are interested in the techniques AND the way I think as an artist, the way this piece grew with all my thinking along the way, please tell me and I will write an E-Pattern about it.

  1. Exuberant is the perfect word to describe your new way of working. I love combinations of techniques and you make them work together perfectly Sara. This piece is delightful.

  2. Just got my latest issue of FUN magazine. There is now an English supplement and I "understand" more. Your philosophy and art go hand and hand, Sara. Will be fun to see your new exuberant work develop.

  6. I already wanted to ask how you work mainly.
    1. Some idea comes, you make sketches, look for some pieces which could fit to this idea and begin to create. Meanwhile more ideas come and the piece grows.
    or
    2. You have one or more nice pieces which you put together. Than you think a bit how to embellish them and the story begains to grow.

I think the Sara-Lechner-Phenomenon is the mix of these.
Yes, yes, write this e-book :-)
