Valentine in her boudoir - Valentine in ihrem Boudoir

This is my Valentine piece. I worked on it some days because it has many details and different techniques.

The doll is in her boudoir and plans her Valentine's date. She decided to wear this dress with roses on the fabric.

There is plenty of fine materials and different hand and machine stitches on this one. I used Austrian pearl strings on wire, the ones you use to do folk art works. Also pearls, sequins, buttons, wire, a huge glass bead, I painted her shoes and ...you notice...she is big and slim, a new kind of lady!

She hangs her new dress from a hanger so that it doesn't get crinkled till Valentine's day.

It is about 18"x12" (45x30cm), the doll is 10" (25cm) high.

The piece can be hung from a hidden wire ring it has on the back or you could put it in a shadow box. Both display possibilities would be good!

  6. Too too beautiful. I looked at photos on Flickr recently of your mixed media things and also your home. I drool with envy. What gorgeous work and gorgeous home. I think you must have lived there a long while for all those layers to happen.

I now desire to try felting from looking at yr blog. My poet friend A. has barrels full of carded wool as he once wove. I hope he'll let me have some so I can learn. Thanks for the felting videos on your blog. I looked at one or two.
