The souls in purgatory - Die Seelen im Fegefeuer

I think in the Middle Ages they always wanted to roast people not only animals.
These poor souls made it to the globus and you can bet on the other end you will find the happy ones in Heaven. I suppose they were meant to be in hell but I'm not a monster, mine have enough with some hours purgatory!

The pins are not a symbol of their torments but the way to keep all layers together before I stitch on them.
There are many different tortures though. Silk smoke clouds, pink flames and white icicles (they are allowed to cool themselves like after the sauna) all mixed together. These are made of tulle. Everything decently layered so that you can bear the sight...

They are waiting for the Last Judgement or for my embroidery, whichever occurs sooner...

  7. I must say Sara, when I read your post, to me it seems you are enjoying putting these "poor souls" through the purgatory of your stitching ... ??! A bit of Spanish Inquisition to it ....
    (NO Sara: I don't think you're a mean person ;-) )

  9. I think you're right about that Sara! But when man is worse than purgatory (and/or hell ..) than no one should fear dieing, when the time is there.
    b.t.w. I'm not a roman catholic ;-)

  10. you're right about that. I was roman catholic as a child and these things spook around my brain but I don't believe in them any more.
