Hemslöjden

I was so surprised to find this Photo from one of my works in Hemslöjden. This is a wonderful art & crafts magazine from Sweden. Even if I don't understand the language I subscribed it a while ago because of the fantastic Swedish pieces you can see in it. I love Swedish design and crafts.

This was because of the workshop I gave there last summer.

Ich war überrascht, ein Foto von einem meiner Werke in Hemslöjden zu finden. Diese ist eine tolle schwedische Illustrierte über Kunsthandwerk. Da ich dieses liebe habe ich sie schon vor einer Weile abboniert, da man nicht so oft Stücke aus diesen nördlichen Ländern zu sehen bekommt.

Es ist da erschienen da ich im Sommer ein Workshop drüben gab.

I finished it!. This is my October pattern, soon enough to be finished before Christmas.

It is about 8"x12" (20x30cm) without branches.

You can hang it from a branch or even from the Christmas tree! but I also did it in a way that you can leave it all winter decorating your home.

Ich bin fertig! Diese ist meine Oktober-Anleitung,rechtzeitig vor Weihnachten.

Es ist ca. 20x30 cm ohne Zweige.

Man kann sie von einem Zweig hängen oder sogar vom Weihnachtsbaum! ich habe sie so gemacht, dass man sie den ganzen Winter hängen lassen kann als Hausdekoration.

Sie ist in englischer Sprache.

Why I'm so quiet - Warum ich so still bin

I received some mails asking me if everything was ok because I was being so quiet. The problem is I'm doing some work for magazines and I'm not supposed to show it... I hate this because it interrupts the communication on the blog. I thought I will show two little details of the piece I'm doing for Patchwork Professional (a German magazine).

As I was last week visiting William Morris house, this inspired me to do "The Dream of the Hare".

Man hat mich gefragt, warum ich so still bin. Eigentlich arbeite an ein Stück für Patchwork Professional. Ich mag nicht besonders diese Sachen, da sie die Kommunikation im Blog stören. Es wird angenommen, ich zeige die Sachen nicht. Aber ich werde doch diese Paar Details mit Euch teilen.

Da ich letzte Woche in London das Haus von William Morris besuchte, hat mich das zum "Traum vom Hasen" inspiriert.

Anneli's new Blog - Neues Blog von Anneli

I want to present you Anneli, a dear friend of Sweden living in Austria in a wonderful little house, all full of Swedisch details and most important of Anneli's art.

Anneli has a new Blog, Bockfilz, and she is also "Whatiffing" (see Photo). I hope she will also show us her huge felted pieces that look wonderful as home decoration. She is learning how to deal with Blogger at the moment but we will hear more of her in the future.

Ich möchte Euch Anneli vorstellen, eine liebe Freundin aus Schweden, die jetzt in Österreich (Burgenland) wohnt. Sie hat ein total liebes Haus total schedisch angehaucht und - noch wichtiger - voll von ihrer Kunst.

Anneli hat ein neues Blog, Bockfilz, und sie tut auch "Whatif"-Stücke (s. Foto). Ich hoffe, dass sie uns auch ihre tollen große Stücke zeigen wird, die so schön für die Wände und Hausdekoration sind. Momentan lernt sie, mit Blogger umzugehen, aber wir werden mehr von ihr in der Zukunft hören.

Knitting and Stitching Show 2008 London

Now I'm back from the Show where I had such wonderful experiences! I met the most wonderful people -f.i. here on the photo Marie and Sue- and saw extraordinary works.
What can you say about such an exhibition? you cannot find words to describe it, you must see it.

I specially liked work done by young upcoming artists. They have a fresh new edge to it.

I also met Beryl Taylor and was happy to spend the morning with her because she is such a talented and interesting lady.

I also visited the house of William Morris in London. That was a treat!

I show some pictures of the entrance because you weren't allowed to take pictures of the most interesting things.

Jetzt bin ich zurück von diesem Show, wo ich tolle Erfahrungen gesammelt habe! Ich habe die netteste Leute getroffen -z.B. die ladies auf dem Bild, Marie und Sue- und habe wunderschöne Werke gesehen. Was kann man darüber erzählen? Man muss sie sehen. Bitte, das nächste Mal nicht verpassen, falls Ihr noch nicht dabei wart.

Besonders habe ich die Werke von jungen Stickern und Designern gesehen.

Ich habe auch Beryl Taylor getroffen und den Vormittag mit ihr verbracht. Sie ist so nett und talentiert, besucht, bitte, ihre Seite.

Ich habe auch das Haus von William Morris in London besucht. Empfehlenswert!

Whattifing around project - Waswärewennprojekt

I just want to tell that I began a "Whatiffing Around" project on a new site.

You are all invited to take part if you wish because it isn't very time consuming. It is for the embellisher but many "what ifs" will be also a universal textile possibility just to trigger your imagination and try to make them with other materials.

Ich möchte sagen, dass ich ein "Waswäredennprojekt" auf einer neuen Seite angefangen habe.

Sie sind alle eingelanden, mitzumachen, da es nicht so zeitraubend ist. Es ist für den Embellisher gemeint, aber man kann auch in anderen textilen Techniken mitmachen.

Ally Pally meeting place

I would like to meet the ones who would like to at the Roman Bar near to the entrance to the Great Hall on Friday the 10th. at 4:30 pm. We could go to a pub or some place you suggest after that to have the chance to have a chat.

I hope this suggestion is a good one because it's my first time there!
