Christmas nears ...

As Christmas nears I feel like sewing something for the tree... I want to make my own decoration. I already have some other pieces from the last years. I will take pictures of them when my studio is ready (yes, I know, this is already a kind of litany of me but now it's really happening, I think I can move in by the end of this week.... gosh! am I happy!!!)

This star is stitched on linen with a Colback/Sizoflor wreath around the angel's face -in gold and silver-
I stitched some knots with gold thread and made a second wreath of pearls around the piece. I'm doing 8 of them to hang on the tree. They are about 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (13x13cm)

  3. It's beautiful. You'll have to show us a picture of your tree when all the ornaments are on it.

  6. Glowing sun! Yes my dolls are soft sculpted. I sometimes use a bit of paper clay to build up the features before I put a fabric skin on them.
    Nice blog, by the way.

  8. tks Helen, i always leave the decorations after christmas because i try to make them so neutral as possible. i don't like the whole christmas business in the advent season. it comes too often, i could manage if i had christmas every fifth year...sorry if i offend somebody with this opinion, but i mean all the hype around the feast... i think it's because i had a patchwork shop many years ago and we began sewing christmas decorations in september, so that 4 months a year you had these red/greens all around the house...
