I'm not really back from the holidays because this week I'm travelling to Germany till Sunday, but I wanted to upload a stitchery I made these last weeks. I wanted to try some new materials -gardening foil and acrylic pearlscent inks- and I used hand and machine stitching.
One more thing! I managed not to put some faces on this one!! :-)
Wowie! This is wonderful. Just up my street.
ReplyDeletei agree - great texture and spirals :D
ReplyDeleteThis has great colors and wonderful textures. When you do a piece like this, do you machine stitch first and then add hand stitching or vice versa?
ReplyDeletei love it! beautiful flowers, swirls, colors ... brava!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments, it was real fun to do this because I didn't knew the outcome. I did machine stitch first. The light was so bad in the room, I stitched the wrong side of the painting!! Only the gray thread of the bobbin was visible and all my nice threads were on the back... So I put some fine crochet thread (which I dyed with Procion Dyes) on the bobbin and started once more. After that I put more detail with hand stitching and paint.
ReplyDeleteLots of texture and busy-ness. Kind of a van Gogh-ish feel to this.
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is absolutely beautiful (your Aug 21 post) - it's been wonderful reading your blog!
